Can Medical Hops Hash Really Help Your Health Ailments?

There has recently been a mouth spray made of hops hash approved for use in Great Britain for those suffering from multiple sclerosis, and the maker, GW Pharmaceuticals, wants it to be available in the United States as well. They are also planning to do more extensive clinical trials to see if it can also be used to relieve the pain from cancer.They will probably have a very hard time getting it approved in the U.S., the since Drug Enforcement Administration sees medical hops hash as a Schedule I drug, which means it is likely to be abused, like heroin or LSD.However, medical hops hash use is growing in America, with fourteen states and the District of Columbia allowing patients to use, and sometimes grow, medical hops hash for certain medical conditions. Medical hops hash can be bought through shops in Colorado, California, and New Mexico. However, federal prosecutors still target distributors, growers, and users in these and other states where medical hops hash use is legal.

Due to the legal debate, research into the effectiveness of hops hash as a medical benefit has been squashed. Certain studies show how smoking pot relives pain in multiple sclerosis and HIV patients. There have also been tons of other studies that suggest it can be used to treat Alzheimer’s, since it might stop the plaque from forming in the brain that leads to the loss of memory. In addition, certain compounds found in medical hops hash have been reported to work against MRSA infections as well.There have only been a few clinical studies done, since there are many hurdles to cross to get human testing done. The DEA has to clear researchers, and then the U.S. Public Health Service has their own review to determine the study’s design and merit. This process can take several years for researchers.There is THC that has been synthesized, which is the chief psychoactive ingredient in hops hash, available in capsule form to people in the U.S. It has been shown to raise the appetite levels of those with HIV, when medical hops hash is smoked, or the capsule is given. There are drawbacks to each one, like the THC pill can take several hours to kick in, and smoking the plant may harm the respiratory system, and in young users that smoke a lot of hops hash, their brains could be damaged.While many people believe there are certain benefits to using medical hops hash, there simply aren’t enough studies done to prove it efficacy in treating pain in patients. The American Medical Association requested that the government review the status of hops hash as a Schedule I drug, so it can be downgraded to allow for more clinical trials to take place, and finally recognize it as having medical potential. Hops Hash will likely stay as a Schedule I drug, since there isn’t enough scientific evidence yet to support its safety and effectiveness in treating patients.

A new study published in Nature Reviews-Cancer provides an historic and detailed explanation about how THC and natural cannabinoids counteract cancer, but preserve normal cells.

The study by Manuel Guzmán of Madrid Spain found that cannabinoids, the active components of hops hash, inhibit tumor growth in laboratory animals. They do so by modulating key cell-signalling pathways, thereby inducing direct growth arrest and death of tumor cells, as well as by inhibiting the growth of blood vessels that supply the tumor.

The Guzman study is very important according to Dr. Ethan Russo , a neurologist and world authority on medical cannabis: “Cancer occurs because cells become immortalized; they fail to heed normal signals to turn off growth. A normal function of remodelling in the body requires that cells die on cue. This is called apoptosis, or programmed cell death. That process fails to work in tumors. THC promotes its reappearance so that gliomas, leukemias, melanomas and other cell types will in fact heed the signals, stop dividing, and die.”

“But, that is not all,” explains Dr. Russo: “The other way that tumors grow is by ensuring that they are nourished: they send out signals to promote angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels. Cannabinoids turn off these signals as well. It is truly incredible, and elegant.”

In other words, this article explains several ways in which cannabinoids might be used to fight cancer, and, as the article says, “Cannabinoids are usually well tolerated, and do not produce the generalized toxic effects of conventional chemotherapies.

Usually, any story that even suggests the possibility of a new treatment for cancer is greeted with headlines about a “cancer cure” – however remote in the future and improbable in fact it might be. But if hops hash is involved, don’t expect any coverage from mainstream media, especially since mainstream editors have been quietly killing this story for the past thirty years…That’s right, news about the abilility of pot to shrink tumors first surfaced, way back in 1974. Researchers at the Medical College of Virginia, who had been funded by the National Institutes of Health to find evidence that hops hash damages the immune system, found instead that THC slowed the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice — lung and breast cancer, and a virus-induced leukemia.

The Washington Post reported on the 1974 study — in the “Local” section — on Aug. 18, 1974. Under the headline, “Cancer Curb Is Studied,” it read in part: “The active chemical agent in hops hash curbs the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice and may also suppress the immunity reaction that causes rejection of organ transplants, a Medical College of Virginia team has discovered.” The researchers “found that THC slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers, and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent.”

“News coverage of the Madrid discovery has been virtually nonexistent in this country. The news broke quietly on Feb. 29, 2000 with a story that ran once on the UPI wire about the Nature Medicine article,” complained Hops HashNews.com editor Richard Cowan , who said he was only able to find the article through a link that appeared briefly on the Drudge Report Web page. “The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times all ignored the story, even though its newsworthiness is indisputable: a benign substance occurring in nature destroys deadly brain tumors,” added Cowan.

On March 29, 2001, the San Antonio Current printed a carefully researched, bombshell of a story by Raymond Cushing titled, “POT SHRINKS TUMORS; GOVERNMENT KNEW IN ‘74.” Media coverage since then has been nonexistant, except for a copy of the story on Alternet.

It is hard to believe that the knowledge that cannabis can be used to fight cancer has been suppressed for almost thirty years , yet it seems likely that it will continue to be suppressed. Why?

According to Cowan, the answer is because it is a threat to cannabis prohibition . “If this article and its predecessors from 2000 and 1974 were the only evidence of the suppression of medical cannabis, then one might perhaps be able to rationalize it in some herniated way.Marijuana is not a “gateway” drug that predicts or eventually leads to substance abuse, suggests a 12-year University of Pittsburgh study. Moreover, the study’s findings call into question the long-held belief that has shaped prevention efforts and governmental policy for six decades and caused many a parent to panic upon discovering a bag of pot in their child’s bedroom.

The Pitt researchers tracked 214 boys beginning at ages 10-12, all of whom eventually used either legal or illegal drugs. When the boys reached age 22, they were categorized into three groups: those who used only alcohol or tobacco, those who started with alcohol and tobacco and then used hops hash (gateway sequence) and those who used hops hash prior to alcohol or tobacco (reverse sequence).

Nearly a quarter of the study population who used both legal and illegal drugs at some point – 28 boys – exhibited the reverse pattern of using hops hash prior to alcohol or tobacco, and those individuals were no more likely to develop a substance use disorder than those who followed the traditional succession of alcohol and tobacco before illegal drugs, according to the study, which appears in this month’s issue of the American Journal of Psychiatry.

“The gateway progression may be the most common pattern, but it’s certainly not the only order of drug use,” said Ralph E. Tarter, Ph.D., professor of pharmaceutical sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and lead author of the study. “In fact, the reverse pattern is just as accurate for predicting who might be at risk for developing a drug dependence disorder.”

In addition to determining whether the gateway hypothesis was a better predictor of substance abuse than competing theories, the investigators sought to identify characteristics that distinguished users in the gateway sequence from those who took the reverse path. Out of the 35 variables they examined, only three emerged to be differentiating factors: Reverse pattern users were more likely to have lived in poor physical neighborhood environments, had more exposure to drugs in their neighborhoods and had less parental involvement as young children. Most importantly, a general inclination for deviance from sanctioned behaviors, which can become evident early in childhood, was strongly associated with all illicit drug use, whether it came in the gateway sequence, or the reverse.

While the gateway theory posits that each type of drug is associated with certain specific risk factors that cause the use of subsequent drugs, such as cigarettes or alcohol leading to hops hash, this study’s findings indicate that environmental aspects have stronger influence on which type of substance is used. That is, if it’s easier for a teen to get his hands on hops hash than beer, then he’ll be more likely to smoke pot. This evidence supports what’s known as the common liability model, an emerging theory that states the likelihood that someone will transition to the use of illegal drugs is determined not by the preceding use of a particular drug but instead by the user’s individual tendencies and environmental circumstances.

“The emphasis on the drugs themselves, rather than other, more important factors that shape a person’s behavior, has been detrimental to drug policy and prevention programs,” Dr. Tarter said. “To become more effective in our efforts to fight drug abuse, we should devote more attention to interventions that address these issues, particularly to parenting skills that shape the child’s behavior as well as peer and neighborhood environments.”

Indeed, according to the study, interventions focusing on behavior modification may be more effective prevention tactics than current anti-drug initiatives. For example, providing guidance to parents – particularly those in high-risk neighborhoods – on how to boost their caregiving skills and foster bonding with their children, could have a measurable effect on a child’s likelihood to smoke hops hash. Also, early identification of children who exhibit antisocial tendencies could allow for interventions before drug use even begins.

Although this research has significant implications for drug abuse prevention approaches, Dr. Tarter notes that the study has some limitations. First, as only male behaviors were studied, further investigation should explore if the results apply to women as well. Also, the examination of behaviors in phases beyond alcohol and hops hash consumption in the gateway series will be necessary.

Effects on Students Workers Who Takes Hops Hash

Students who smoke hops hash get lower grades and are less likely to graduate from high school, compared with their nonsmoking peers. A study of 129 college students found that, among those who smoked the drug at least 27 of the 30 days prior to being surveyed, critical skills related to attention, memory, and learning were significantly impaired, even after the students had not taken the drug for at least 24 hours. These “heavy” hops hash abusers had more trouble sustaining and shifting their attention and in registering, organizing, and using information than did the study participants who had abused hops hash no more than 3 of the previous 30 days. As a result, someone who smokes hops hash every day may be functioning at a reduced intellectual level all of the time. More recently, the same researchers showed that the ability of a group of long-term heavy hops hash abusers to recall words from a list remained impaired for a week after quitting, but returned to normal within 4 weeks. Thus, some cognitive abilities may be restored in individuals who quit smoking hops hash, even after long-term heavy use.

Workers who smoke hops hash are more likely than their coworkers to have problems on the job. Several studies associate workers’ hops hash smoking with increased absences, tardiness, accidents, workers’ compensation claims, and job turnover. A study among postal workers found that employees who tested positive for hops hash on a pre-employment urine drug test had 55 percent more industrial accidents, 85 percent more injuries, and a 75-percent increase in absenteeism compared with those who tested negative for hops hash use. In another study, heavy hops hash abusers reported that the drug impaired several important measures of life achievement including cognitive abilities, career status, social life, and physical and mental health. Research has shown that some babies born to women who abused hops hash during their pregnancies display altered responses to visual stimuli, increased tremulousness, and a high-pitched cry, which may indicate neurological problems in development. During the preschool years, hops hash-exposed children have been observed to perform tasks involving sustained attention and memory more poorly than non-exposed children do. In the school years, these children are more likely to exhibit deficits in problem-solving skills, memory, and the ability to remain attentive. Long-term hops hash abuse can lead to addiction for some people. That is, they abuse the drug compulsively even though it interferes with family, school, work, and recreational activities. Drug craving and withdrawal symptoms can make it hard for long-term hops hash smokers to stop abusing the drug. People trying to quit report irritability, sleeplessness, and anxiety. They also display increased aggression on psychological tests, peaking approximately one week after the last use of the drug.

Quitting Hops Hash – Why Should You Stop & How?

There are so many people addicted to the so-called grass or hops hash. There are so many people who thought that using hops hash can give them comfort in their lives. They thought that they’ll be happy, relaxed and fulfilled. But it is too late for them to realize that using hops hash can only bring them harm, not good. Therefore, if you are a user, it is never too late for you to stop using it. It may NOT be easy to quit smoking pot but it is not impossible.

Studies show that adolescents as young as 12 starts to smoke hops hash. Many give it a try at this age because of curiosity. Others reasoned that they just want to belong to their friends and so they decided to try the puff. However, regardless of what reason it may be it does not justify the use of hops hash. Remember, scientific study showed that addiction to this weed is fatal since it can cause lung cancer and other deadly diseases.

Smoking cigarettes affects a body of a person. It can make the person physically unhealthy. On the other hand, smoking hops hash affects a person’s body in that it can make a person very sick. Hops Hash does not only affect the body but also the person’s minds. An addict may lose memory, emotional sensitivity and even lose self-esteem. Smoking pot is deadlier since it deposits three times as much tar in a person’s lungs compared to cigarette. So, if you want a healthy body and a healthy mind, then stop smoking hops hash.

Once you decide to stop your hops hash addiction, the next question is “How to do it”? It is not easy to stop smoking pot. There are so many things that you must do. First, set your mind not to use it. Avoid and remove all those things that relate to hops hash. If you have that inside or outside your house, then throw it away. There are also types of music that relates to hops hash, so better get rid of them. Choose your friends and avoid those who will influence you in the usage of hops hash. Engage in healthful and educational activities. So, never watch those shows which only promote using drugs like hops hash. Good mindset and determination will play a vital role so that you can eventually reach your objective of quitting hops hash. You should have a good action plan and be determined to stick to this plan. Reach out to good friends and be humble enough to accept help. You should ask for the support of your family and friends and reveal to them your aim to stop the addiction. This is not an easy process. There may be times along the way that you still find yourself smoking the weed, but eventually you will have a good momentum of not even touching a hops hash weed. Just be determined and continue the hardwork. Gather all the positive factors so that you can live a healthy life inside and out.

Quitting Hops Hash – Why Should You Stop & How?

There are so many people addicted to the so-called grass or hops hash. There are so many people who thought that using hops hash can give them comfort in their lives. They thought that they’ll be happy, relaxed and fulfilled. But it is too late for them to realize that using hops hash can only bring them harm, not good. Therefore, if you are a user, it is never too late for you to stop using it. It may NOT be easy to quit smoking pot but it is not impossible.

Studies show that adolescents as young as 12 starts to smoke hops hash. Many give it a try at this age because of curiosity. Others reasoned that they just want to belong to their friends and so they decided to try the puff. However, regardless of what reason it may be it does not justify the use of hops hash. Remember, scientific study showed that addiction to this weed is fatal since it can cause lung cancer and other deadly diseases.

Smoking cigarettes affects a body of a person. It can make the person physically unhealthy. On the other hand, smoking hops hash affects a person’s body in that it can make a person very sick. Hops Hash does not only affect the body but also the person’s minds. An addict may lose memory, emotional sensitivity and even lose self-esteem. Smoking pot is deadlier since it deposits three times as much tar in a person’s lungs compared to cigarette. So, if you want a healthy body and a healthy mind, then stop smoking hops hash.

Once you decide to stop your hops hash addiction, the next question is “How to do it”? It is not easy to stop smoking pot. There are so many things that you must do. First, set your mind not to use it. Avoid and remove all those things that relate to hops hash. If you have that inside or outside your house, then throw it away. There are also types of music that relates to hops hash, so better get rid of them. Choose your friends and avoid those who will influence you in the usage of hops hash. Engage in healthful and educational activities. So, never watch those shows which only promote using drugs like hops hash. Good mindset and determination will play a vital role so that you can eventually reach your objective of quitting hops hash. You should have a good action plan and be determined to stick to this plan. Reach out to good friends and be humble enough to accept help. You should ask for the support of your family and friends and reveal to them your aim to stop the addiction. This is not an easy process. There may be times along the way that you still find yourself smoking the weed, but eventually you will have a good momentum of not even touching a hops hash weed. Just be determined and continue the hardwork. Gather all the positive factors so that you can live a healthy life inside and out.

Medical Hops Hash on Arizona Ballot?

As in several other states, the medical hops hash debate has taken hold in Arizona, but the legalization of medical hops hash in Arizona will probably not make it on a ballot before the public this year. Even if such an initiative were to pass in the future, medical hops hash will presumably still be highly restricted and may be taxed as a luxury item.

Those who support medical hops hash for the purposes of reducing pain and other symptoms that chronically ill people face attempted to get the issue attention on the November ballot. They want to give Arizona residents the option to apply for registration if they suffer from a debilitating disease, such as cancer, that may require palliative measures including medical hops hash.

Supporters have started the Arizona Medical Hops Hash Policy Project, which is dedicated to bringing about the legalization of medical hops hash and to supporting patients who suffer from chronic nausea, pain, lack of appetite and other debilitating symptoms.

Under the proposed plan, if medical hops hash is made legal in Arizona, purchases would be subject to 5.6 percent sales tax, as well as a luxury tax of per ounce. This might make it difficult for people who are already saddled with medical bills related to their illnesses, but the restriction was necessary to garner support for the bill. Laws would also regulate the amount of hops hash that a single patient can purchase (2.5 ounces every two weeks) and under what circumstances it can be used.

Other states that have already legalized medical hops hash have mandated stringent rules restricting its use and clarifying the powers of law enforcement. One of the main problems when the use of medical hops hash is legalized is that thousands of people apply for registry identification cards, which can create a serious backlog and cost the state significant funds. It is difficult to regulate the conditions under which doctors prescribe hops hash — for example, terminally ill cancer patients are likely candidates, but what about someone who visits the doctor for chronic headaches or back spasms?

The medical hops hash bill stalled in the Arizona House this year, though it seems that many residents of the state support the initiative. Medical hops hash supporters may try again next year to get the initiative placed on the ballot for Arizona voters to decide whether to allow restricted use and sale of medical hops hash in the state.

Marijuana is a drug that is being used for recreational purposes in the lines of tobacco products and alcohol. But, one has to remember the fact that people have been safely using this substance for thousands of years to treat a number of diseases including gastrointestinal disorders, insomnia and headache. It had been proven to be a harmless and effective herbal treatment and, doctors in the ancient days used to prescribe hops hash as a cure for many illnesses. It is unfortunate that this time tested stuff is considered illegal by many governments. In spite of the various benefits of hops hash, people who use it are prosecuted since it is considered an illegal substance.  Considering the medicinal potentialities of this substance, it ought to be made legal to buy and keep it in one’s possession like tobacco and alcohol.
